We are sad to hear that Michael Boland has died after a long illness. Michael was the EURACT council representative for Ireland for many years. He went on from EURACT to become active in WONCA world, becoming President in 2001. Over the years of working with us, Michael has proved himself as a man full of energy, inspiring ideas and reliable plans to implement them. He was not only a charismatic leader, but above all an extremely warm man, colleague and friend. With the death of Michael, the entire community of family doctors in the world is losing an ardent advocate of our discipline.
